In order to borrow gear from the TMCGL, you just need to:
a) identify as a woman, trans man, trans woman, or gender diverse human.
AND
b) have attended any one of our events and signed our waiver!
Borrowing from the gear library will always be free, so we just need to know a bit about you, like contact information. We’ll never share your personal info with anyone else!
Lending of gear is on a first-booked, first-served basis.
You can currently book an item for as long as you need (up to 21 days) with the possibility of renewal, which is considered on a case-by-case basis.
The minimum age for borrowing is 18 years old. If you are under 18 years old and would still like to borrow gear, get in touch and we’ll see how we can help.
We’re a (very) small group of volunteers that manage this resource. We’ll do our very best to respond promptly, but it might take us up to 48 hours to hear back about a booking request - please keep that in mind when making plans around borrowing gear.
We ask that you return all borrowed items DRY & CLEAN! What does this mean?
Tents: Shake or sweep tent out before taking down at campsite. Once home, please hang tents out to thoroughly and completely dry after use, even if it felt dry to the touch at the site. Wipe off mud and debris as necessary. Ensure all parts, including pegs, are neatly packed back into the tent bag.
Sleeping bags: We ask that everyone uses a sleeping bag liner when sleeping in lended sleeping bags. Once home, please air the sleeping bag out overnight before putting it back in its bag. Please wash the sleeping bag liner before returning, if you’re able. Let us know if you’re not able to wash the liner and we can arrange to do that.
Empty all bike bags of trash and personal items, spot cleaning as necessary.
Return all items packed in bags and with any straps provided.
Please let us know if any items are damaged or didn’t work as intended.
The gear library is made possible by generous donations by fellow cyclists, grants, and/or partnerships, which makes much of our inventory financially difficult or impossible to replace. Please take care of and return items in the condition that you borrowed them in! In the event of loss or damage, borrowers agree to pay for the loss equal to the value of the item or damage accrued, per the discretion of TMC leadership.
If you have any questions, concerns, accessibility needs or feedback for us, please get in touch at themonthlycyclehfx@gmail.com! We’re happy to make accommodations for those without access to technology.

*TMC reserves the right to update these borrowing policies in order to better serve our community. The gear library is brand new, so policies and processes may need to be adjusted accordingly!
